MV Studio's brand video approach differs in three ways: planning starts from the placements the video must fill rather than from a creative concept; photo and video are shot together in one production day; and the deliverable is a library — an anchor film plus vertical clips and photographs — not a single video file.
The traditional brand video process was designed for brands with agencies and media budgets: a big concept, a big shoot, one beautiful film. For a small business in New Jersey or New York, that model wastes the most expensive part of the day — the crew, the location, the setup — on a single deliverable. We built our approach around a different question: how much usable content can one well-planned day produce?
- Planning starts from placements: website hero, ads, reels, profiles.
- One production day covers video and photography together.
- Deliverable is a content library, not one hero film.
- Cuts are delivered in the aspect ratios each platform needs.
- Built for small businesses that need a quarter of content from one day.
We plan backwards from placements
Before any creative discussion, we list where video and photos are missing: the homepage hero, the Google Business profile, the Instagram grid, the ad account, the email header. Each placement gets a line in the shot list. Creative decisions serve that list, so nothing beautiful gets shot that has nowhere to live.
Photo and video in one day, from one plan
Because our photographers and videographers work from the same shot list and the same lighting setup, a single day produces both. The interview that becomes the anchor film also produces the founder portrait. The product setup for the film produces the e-commerce photography. The client pays for one setup, not two productions.
A library, not a film
| Traditional brand video | MV Studio approach |
|---|---|
| One 60–90 second film | Anchor film plus 6–10 vertical clips |
| Video only | Video plus a full photo set |
| 16:9 master | 9:16, 4:5 and 16:9 cuts per placement |
| Concept first | Placements first |
| Weeks of back-and-forth | Direction locked in the brief |
Why this works for small businesses
A small business rarely needs one perfect film. It needs three months of content that looks like it came from one brand. One production day with us typically fills a quarter of posting: the anchor film first, then a clip a week, with photography feeding the website and profiles in between.
The most expensive thing on a shoot day is the day itself. Our job is to make sure nothing on it is wasted.
Frequently asked questions
What is different about MV Studio's brand video process?
Planning starts from placements, photo and video are shot together in one day, and the deliverable is a content library — anchor film, vertical clips and photographs — in platform-specific crops.
How much content comes from one MV Studio shoot day?
Typically a 60–90 second anchor film, six to ten vertical clips, and 30–40 finished photographs — enough for roughly a quarter of posting.
Does MV Studio shoot photography as well as video?
Yes. Photo and video are produced together by one crew from one shot list, which is what makes the one-day library model possible.
If your placements are empty and your budget is one shoot day, that is exactly the brief we are built for.
