Most production problems happen before the shoot, not during it. A vague brief becomes a long day becomes an edit nobody is happy with. Our process exists to remove that risk: every MV Studio project, from a two-hour portrait session to a multi-day conference, runs through the same five stages.

Stage 1 — The discovery call
Twenty to thirty minutes. We ask what the content is for — not 'photos of the event' but the actual placements: the press release, the website hero, the reel, the recruiting page. We ask for the date, the venue, the run of show if there is one, and the budget range. You leave the call knowing whether we are the right fit and roughly what it will cost.
Stage 2 — Brief and shot list
Everything from the call becomes a written document: deliverables, formats, must-capture moments, names of people who must be photographed, anything that must stay out of frame. You approve this before the shoot. If the plan changes the night before, the document changes with it — this is the single source of truth on the day.
Stage 3 — Shoot day
- The crew arrives before call time for load-in and a lighting check.
- Photo and video operators work from the same shot list — no competing for angles.
- A rolling card offload starts early, so editing can begin while the event is still running.
- The client contact gets a preview of first selects before they leave the venue.
Stage 4 — Same-day selects
On event days, the first 10–15 edited photos land within 60–90 minutes of the first offload, with new batches roughly every hour. A vertical clip for stories follows the same night. This is the part of the process clients notice most — the announcement goes out while the event is still news.
Stage 5 — Final delivery
The full edited gallery arrives in about five days, the recap or brand film in about seven. Files are delivered organised by use — web, social, press, print — in the aspect ratios agreed in the brief. One revision round on films is included, because the brief already aligned us on direction.
A good production process is boring on the day. All the decisions were made the week before.
